Design / Build

Bridging the gap between design intent and constructed reality through hands-on fabrication and iterative prototyping.

← Back to Research

Design / Build in the University setting offers a unique learning experience to students. It allows them to take a building from concept to reality. During a Design / Build Studio the construction site becomes a learning space. Students are able to work alongside tradesmen and suppliers. Along with the professors, these professionals serve an advisory role and informally teach students lessons that could never be learned in a traditional studio.
